Babushka Christmas Performance
The children sang, danced, acted and read spectacularly for our Christmas performance of the Russian Folktale, Babushka. Well done to all involved. See them in their fabulous costumes below:
Printed Wrapping Paper
Using very simple Christmas images, we made polystyrene tiles to create a unique monoprint in a repeated pattern.
We looked at examples of Gingerbread Houses to see what we would need and what we would need to do. After that we made a model from card that we drew our design on to. We had to use a budget of 20p to choose which sweets we would use to decorate our house. The school smelled wonderful when we were baking, cutting and constructing out houses.
Wax resist leaves with brusho dyes
We collected leaves from the school grounds, identified them and decided whether they were from deciduous or evergreen trees. To help us we made observational drawings of our chosen leaf before covering the lines with wax and adding vibrant colour by painting with brusho dyes.
Oil and chalk pastel poppies
Mrs Fowle asked us to create some poppies to display at her Church for Remembrance Day. We used our observational drawing skills ("Your eyes work harder than your hands!") with oil and chalk pastels.
