What time does school start and finish?

All pupils should arrive between 8:40-8:50 am, registration is taken between 8:50 and 9am. Reception, Year 1 & Year 2 are to arrive via the Park Road Gate. Years 3, 4 ,5 & 6 to arrive via the Main Gate on Dover Street.

The school day finishes at 3:20 for all pupils. Reception children are to be collected from the Reception playground. Pupils in Years 1 & 2 are to be collected from their classroom door. Years 3 & 4 parents are to collect from the mezzanine/Library door. Years 5 & 6  leave via the main gate, parents collecting are asked to wait outside the main gate on Dover Street.

How long is the school day?

Children spend 6.5 hours in school each day (32.5  hours per week)

Can my child walk home from school alone?

Only pupils in years 5 & 6 with parental permission may arrive and/ or leave on their own, everyone else should be accompanied by an adult.

What time is lunch?

Lunchtime is 12:10 - 13:10. Reception and KS1 are in the hall for the 1st half and KS2 the 2nd. 

How do I report an absence to school?

If your child is absent from school for any reason, we request that you call the School Office on the first day of absence and then each subsequent day thereafter. This must then be followed up when your child returns to school with a written letter or email to office@doverparkpri.iow.sch.uk. Please see our absence page for further information Absence Page
