School Council

Welcome to the Home page for Dover Park's School Council.  Our School Council represents the views of all our pupils. It gives children the opportunity to make their voices heard and feel part of the whole school community.

The children currently on the council were elected from each class.  At the meetings the primary representative will attend, however if they are unavailable, then the reserve candidate will replace them.

Each week the rest of the school community will have the chance to raise any issues, concerns or things that are just going well, which the reps will take to the meeting.

The meetings will be facilitated by Miss Wilcox and Mrs Shaer.

School Council 2022

The School Council voted for the winners of the Design a Bin Competition - here they are with their bins!

An important task of the School Council is to decide (on behalf of the other children in the school) the charities that the school will support in the academic year.  In the past we have supported one local, one national and one international charity.  At these events we normally ask for a minimum £1 donation.  This year the Council decided they would like to support more charities but were worried about asking parents/children for additional money.  With this in mind it was agreed that 6 charities will be supported but the minimum donation reduced to 50p.

So far the charities decided upon are:

AUTUMN TERM - Jeans for Genes Day (National) and Water Aid (International)

SPRING TERM - Ryde Inshore Rescue (Local) and Sports relief (International)

SUMMER TERM - TBC
